This Boat Parade illustration was inspired by the boat parades, as well as the unique vessels that have come upon the Mystic River.
There are many hidden images on the buoy, including a scene based on my chidren’s book “1, 2, 3 The Castles I See”.
“Storytime in the stonington jungle” (2023)
The Stonington Free Library to illustrate their yearly buoy for their collection. I was first asked when I applied my illustration for their Fall Art Show.
This piece shows my love and passion for the search & find books I had throughout my childhood, and I was happy to have it take place in my childhood library. This buoy got to take place in the Buoy Scavenger Hunt and be an interactive exhibit in their library.
“ Catch of the Day ” (2022)
I designed and painted a buoy for the 2022 Lobster Trap Tree in the Stonington Borough.
I based my design on some of the characters from my first picture book, "A Beach Chase", and my love of illustrating different kinds of sea life.
